AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING SECTION 21 -1 1 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY
CODE, 9 NG , BY DELETI SU ECTION c TER ZONE
NO. 3 AND ADDING SAID STREETS TO SUBSECTION (B)

CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, , BY AMENDING SUB-

REP LING LL 0 INANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR
VIOLATION; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT SECTION 21 -131 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY
CODE, 1958, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY DELETING SUBSECTION
(C) "METER ZONE NO. 3 ", AND ADDING SAID STREETS TO SUBSECTION (B)
"METER ZONE NO. 2" TO HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS:
"13. CHAPARRAL STREET, WEST SIDE, FROM PEOPLES STREET
TO SCHATZEL STREET.
"14. MESQUITE STREET, EAST SIDE, FROM PEOPLES STREET
TO SCHATZEL STREET.
"15. SCHATZEL STREET, NORTH SIDE, FROM CHAPARRAL STREET
TO MESQUITE STREET."
SECTION 2. THAT SECTION 21 -131 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY
CODE, 1958, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY AMENDING SUBSECTION
(B) "METER ZONE NO. 2 ", ITEM 4, TO HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS:
"4. CARANCAHUA STREET, FROM BUFFALO STREET TO COMANCHE STREET."
SECTION 3. THAT ANY ORDINANCE INCONSISTENT WITH ANY OF THE
TERMS AND PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE IS HEREBY REPEALED; PROVIDED,
HOWEVER, THAT SUCH REPEAL SHALL BE ONLY TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH INCON-
SISTENCY AND IN ALL OTHER RESPECTS THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECUMULATIVE
OF OTHER ORDINANCES REGULATING AND GOVERNING THE SUBJECT MATTER COVERED
BY THIS ORDINANCE.
SECTION 4. ANY PERSON, FIRM OR CORPORATION, WHO SHALL VIOLATE
ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE ORDINANCE SHALL, UPON CONVICTION, BE DEEMED
GUILTY OF AN OFFENSE AND FINED NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED
($200.00) DOLLARS. ANY PERSON WHO SHALL AID, ABET OR ASSIST IN THE

VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE GUILTY
OF AN OFFENSE AND SHALL BE FINED NOT EXCEEDING TWO HUNDRED ($200.00)
DOLLARS.
SECTION 5. THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER
ITS PUBLICATION ONE TIME IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN
SUMMARY THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE AND THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION
THEREOF.
SECTION 6. THE FACT THAT IT IS NECESSARY FOR THE HEALTH,
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
TO LIMIT PARKING ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI CREATES
A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE BUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE
SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDI-
NANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCILS AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY
EXISTS AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT
THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND
TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE
IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, THIS THE DAY OF FEBRUARY,

SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR 'REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLU-
TION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL;
1, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIRE-
MENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCEI)p OR AT THE
