CY WHEREAS, THE CITY STREET EXTENDING FROM A POINT NEAR THE BASCULE BRIDGE, NORTH OF DAN REID STREET TO BUFORD STREET, HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY DESIGNATED AS 'WATER STREET" TO COOPER STREET, AND IS SOMETIMES REFERRED TO AS 'WATER STREET" AND SOMETIMES REFERRED TO AS "OCEAN DRIVE" AS TO THAT PORTION EXTENDING FROM COOPER STREET TO BUFORD STREET; AND WHEREAS, ALL OF SAID STREET NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF FUR- MAN AVENUE SHOULD BE DESIGNATED BY A SINGLE NAME AND SAID STREET IS MOST GENERALLY REFERRED TO AS 'WATER STREET" AND IS A CONTINUATION OF WATER STREET, EXTENDING NORTHWARD FROM COOPER STREET TO A POINT NEAR THE BASCULE BRIDGE: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT ALL OF THAT STREET EXTENDING SOUTHWARD FROM COOPER STREET TO FURMAN AVENUE, SOMETIMES REFERRED TO AS 'WATER STREET" AND SOMETIMES REFERRED TO AS "OCEAN DRIVE ", BE AND THE SA I ME 15 HEREBY DESIGNATED AS 'WATER STREET ". jr SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY FOR OFFICIAL DESIGNATION EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY OF THE STREET NAME OF THE STREET HEREINABOVE REFERRED TO CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM )�JAND AFTER ITS PASSAGE,IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, THIS d DAY OF 196o.
