AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF 617,474.64 OUT OF VARIOUS
BOND FUNDS FOR EXPENSES IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE
OF $1,960, 00.00,_ CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FIRST
MORTGAGE WATERWORKS REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 160, &
1, 0,000.00, GENERAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS, SERIES
1960 ON JUNE 13, 19 0, SAID APPROPR ATION TO BE
FROM THE BOND FUNDS AS PER THE ATTACHED LIST; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED THE SUM OF
$17,474.64 OUT OF VARIOUS BOND FUNDS FOR EXPENSES IN CONNECTION WITH
THE SALE OF $1,960,000.0O, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FIRST MORTGAGE WATER-
WORKS REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1960, & $1,850,000.00, GENERAL IMPROVEMENT
BONDS, SERIES 196o, ON JUNE 13, 1960, SAID APPROPRIATION TO BE FROM THE
BOND FUNDS AS PER THE ATTACHED LIST.
SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY FOR MAKING THE APPROPRIATION AS
DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 HEREOF CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE
PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRO-
DUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE
SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT
SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION
OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE
DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN
FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED.

contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated in the above
and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi
to the credit of No. 202 City of Corpus Christi Waterworks System Construction
Fund $9,573.76, No. 212 Fire Station Bond Construction Fund $333.12, No. 214 Hospital
Bond Fund $298.95, No. 230 Bridge Removal and Relocation Bond Fund $256.23, No. 250
Sanitary Sewer.System Bond Fund $5,979.05, No. 295 Storm Sewer Bond Improvement
Fund $1,033.53
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE-
GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE
SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLU-
TION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL;
I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIRE-
MENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE
PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
