AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF A PORTION OF ADEL DRIVE TO GOLLIHAR ROAD' SAID PORTION OF STREET BEING IN CULLEN PLACE SUBDIVISION UNIT N0. 2, CORPUS CHRISTI NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING THE 57002 5 0O AND 5900 BLOCKS OF ADEL DRIVE, STARTING AT LUM AVENUE AND EXTENDING TO BELMEADE DRIVE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE NAME OF A PORTION OF THE STREET KNOWN AS ADEL DRIVE BE CHANGED SO AS TO HEREAFTER BEAR THE NAI4E OF GOLLIHAR ROAD, SAID PORTION OF ADEL DRIVE BEING IN CULLEN PLACE SUBDIVISION UNIT NO. 2, A SUBDIVISION WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, AND BEING THE 5700, 5800 AND 5900 BLOCKS OF ADEL DRIVE, BEGINNING AT LUM AVENUE AND EXTENDING TO BELMEADE DRIVE. SECTION 2. THAT THE DIRECTOR OF TRAFFIC ENGINEERING BE AND HE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO CAUSE TO BE REMOVED ANY STREET SIGNS OR MARKERS WHICH ARE ERRONEOUS AFTER THE PASSAGE OF THIS ORDINANCE AND TO ERECT NEW STREET SIGNS OR MARKERS AT APPROPRIATE PLACES DESIGNATING THE CORRECT NAME OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED STREET. SECTION 3. THE FACT THAT THE CHANGE OF NAME AS ABOVE SET FORTH SHOULD BE DESIGNATED BY APPROPRIATE MARKERS AND DESIGNATION SHOULD BE MADE AS PROMPTLY AS POSSIBLE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY, REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE 02 RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SAID ORDINANCE SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSA , IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, THIS T�DAY OF , 1960. i ATTE MAYOR THE CITY ORPUS CHR UT 1, TEXAS CITY SECRETAV APPROVED AS TO >ILEGAL FORM � 4IS DAY OF 196o: f� J t'o CITY ATTORNEY _ ° .Go" CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS / DAY OF TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE - GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLU- TION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 13 INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIRE- MENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
