HomeMy WebLinkAbout05925 ORD - 10/12/1960jI :10 -10 -60 1 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH PAVEMENT PLANING COMPANY, LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, FOR WORK IN CONNECTION WITH LEOPARD STREET PAVEMENT PLANING PROJECT; APPROPRIAT- ING AND REAPPROPRIATING THE SUM OF 012,200.00, REPRESENTING THE CONSTRUCTION COST FROM GENERAL FUNDS CURRENTLY BUDGETED IN ACTIVITY 4911, STREET MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION, CODE 502; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH PAVEMENT PLANING COMPANY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, CONTRACTORS, FOR WORK IN CONNECTION WITH THE LEOPARD STREET PAVEMENT PLANING PROJECT, SAID WORK TO CONSIST OF HEATING EXISTING PAVEMENT AND PLANING IT TO A SMOOTH SURFACE, REMOVING SURPLUS ASPHALT OVER AN OVERALL AREA OF APPROXIMATELY 55,500 SQUARE YARDS, SAID WORK TO BE DONE ON LEOPARD STREET FROM UPPER BROADWAY TO PALM DRIVE, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET OUT IN THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY SECRETARY, ALL OF WHICH ARE MADE A PART HEREOF BY REFERENCE, AND ACCORDING TO THE BID OF PAVEMENT PLANING COMPANY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OPENED ON THE 5TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1960, THE SAID BID OF PAVEMENT PLANING COMPANY BEING THE LOWEST AND MOST ADVANTAGEOUS TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 2. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED AND REAPPROPRIATED THE SUM OF 02,200.00 OUT OF GENERAL FUNDS CURRENTLY BUDGETED IN ACTIVITY 4911, STREET MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION, CODE 502, FOR THE CONSTRUC- TION CONTRACT. SECTION 3.
