HomeMy WebLinkAbout05946 RES - 11/02/1960A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Alberto Andrade G. has been the representative of the Republac.of Mexico, stationed in the City of Corpus Christi for the past :Eive years in the capacity of the Mexican Consul; and WHEREAS, he has very ably represented his govermaeut and at tne same time been of immeasurable assistance to the citizens of this country in matters involving relations between the two countries, and particularly in. regard to assisting American tourists in their travels to Mexico; and WHEREAS, Mr. Andrade, while very capably representing his governmeuti has been a good neighbor and a model citizea;-aud WHEREAS, in view of the aforementioned characteristics of this outstanding citizen, it is deemed fitting and proper that the services of Mr. Andrade G. be publicly -recognized and our expression of apprecia- tion be made to him; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CE pus CHRISTI, TEUS: That the Honorable Alberto .Andrade G.,, Consul of the Republic of Mexico, stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas, in the United States of AmeTica3 who is relinquishing his assignment a-ad raturning.to his beloved country, has been heretofore proclaimed an honorary citizen of the City of Corpus Christi., Texas, and will be remembered as a worthy representative of his country, a good citizen, neighbor and friend of all persons with waom he was associated, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be pre- sented to the Honorable Alberto Andrade G. in token of the high esteem which the citizens of Corpus Christi and this City Council hatre for him. PASSED, APPROVED and filed in the Official Archives of said City this 2nd day of November, 1960, A.D. ELLROY KING, Mayoyj City of Corpus t5 sti, Tex CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS DAY OF ` , �9 Lo TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE - GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RE$OLU- TION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT LS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIRE- MENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
