AN ORDINANCE
ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF AIRPORT TERMINAL
BUILDING AND APPROPRIATING FROM NO. 245 AIRPORT
BOND FUND THE SUM OF $6,217.85 TO AUGMENT PREVIOUS
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE,AMDUNT OF $1,331059.05, THE
ADDITIONAL FUNDS BEING REQUIRED TO PAY THE CONTRACTOR,
BRASELTON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, THE BALANCE OF MONIES
D $10, 000.00—. IOUSLY RETAINED FROM FINAL
ESTIMATE NO. 15, AND PENDING COMPLETION OF CERTAIN
CONSTRUCTION DJUSTMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THEIR
CONTRACT,'ON A CONTRACT IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF
$1,337,276.90, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245- 56 -6.1.
AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING, STAGE 2; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THE AIRPORT TERMINAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTED UNDER CONTRACT
AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 5271, DATED FEBRUARY 5, 1959, IS HEREBY ACCEPTED
AND THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED FROM NO. 245 AIRPORT BOND FUND THE SUM OF
$6,217.85 TO AUGMENT PREVIOUS APPROPRIATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,331.059.05,
THE ADDITIONAL FUNDS BEING REQUIRED TO PAY THE CONTRACTORS, BRASELTON CON-
STRUCTION COMPANY, THE BALANCE OF MONIES DUE OF $10,000.00, WHICH SUM WAS
PREVIOUSLY RETAINED FROM FINAL ESTIMATE N0. 15, PENDING COMPLETION OF CERTAIN
CONSTRUCTION ADJUSTMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THEIR CONTRACT IN THE TOTAL
AMOUNT OF $1,337,276.90, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT N0. 245- 56 -6.1, AIRPORT
TERMINAL BUILDING. STAGE 2.
SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE AFORESAID APPROPRIATION TO
PROVIDE SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO PAY THE CONTRACTOR FOR WORK COMPLETED IN
CONNECTION WITH THE AIRPORT CONTRACT AND ACCEPT THE WORK CREATES A PUBLIC
EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF
THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON
THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR,
HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED
THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED, AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY
ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND
EFFECT FROM AND AFTEp/gTS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, THIS
