HomeMy WebLinkAbout06147 ORD - 05/24/1961WDP:bb:5 -19 -61 • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF TEE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, AP- PEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ OF TEE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME, AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 6106, PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 29TH DAY OF MARCH, 1961, AY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 1 AND 2, BLOCK 6, BAYVIEW SUBDIVISION, BEING THAT PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF CRAIG AVENUE AND OCEAN DRIVE, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, FROM "A -1" APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT 0' APARTMENT HOUSE DISTRICT WITH A RESTRICTION; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORMOMES IN CONFLICT HERE- WITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Zoning and Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning certain applications for amendments to the Zoning Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public said public hearing having been held on May 10, 1961, at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded, and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on ft 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record in Volume 9, Pages 565 et seq of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 6106, passed and approved by the City Council on the 29th day of March, 1961, be and the same is hereby amended by making the changes hereinafter set out. 6: 1'7 • 1 1 • SECTION 2. That Lots 1 and 2, Block 6, Bayview Subdivision, being that property located at the southwest corner of Craig Avenue and Ocean Drive, in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby rezoned from "A -1" Apartment House District to "A -2" Apart- ment House District with the restriction that there be no ingress or egress other than to Craig Avenue. SECTION 3. That the official Zoning Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time and particularly as amended on the 29th day of March, 1961, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making aforesaid changes for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, creates a public emergency and an imperative necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested tie sus- pension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its p ssage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, this day of , 1961. Prieb, have applied for a change of zoning from "A -1" to "A -2" on certain premises in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, described as Lots 1 and 2, Block 6, Bayview Subdivision. On May 10, 1961, the City Council passed a motion that the above requested change of zoning be granted with the restriction that there be no ingress or egress from the above described property to any street other than Craig Avenue. I hereby represent to the City of Corpus Christi that this restriction is acceptable to me. I further represent that no improve- ments will be made on Lots 1 and 2, Block 6, Bayview Subdivision, which will include vehicular ingress or egress to any street other than Craig Avenue.
