HomeMy WebLinkAbout06153 ORD - 05/31/1961• WDP:bbt5 -24 -61 • a AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHR= TO EXECUTE_ FOR AND ON BE- HALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, A CONTRACT WITH DEL STARR REALTY COMPANY, A TEXAS CORPORATION, IN CONNECTION WITH THE INCORPORATION OF SCBAKEN ESTATES, UNIT 3, AS SHOWN BY MAP OF RECORD. IN 'ME. OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, ADJOINING THE CORPORATE LIMM OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Del Starr Realty Company, a Texas Corporation, is the owner in fee simple of the property described herein which adjoins the City of Corpus Christi; and WHERP,I , the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi deems such action of incorporation of such property within the corporate limits of the City of Corpus Christi to be in the best interest of the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, such territory, when so admitted into the City, shall bear its proportionate share of all taxes levied by the City and its inhabitants shall have all the privileges and be subject to all the duties of the other inhabitants of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY -COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXASt SECTION 1. That the need for the City of Corpus Christi to grow, expand and develop in an orderly fashion creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no Ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its p sage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED this the / day of 1961.
