CIPAL TANA SHALL HEREAFTER BE HELD IN AND FOR SAID
CITY. AND SAME SHALL BE KNOWN AS ELECTION PRECINCTS NUIBERS
ONE (1), TWO (2), THREE (3), FOUR (4), FIVE (5), SIX (6),
SEVEN (7), EIGHT (8), NINE .(9), TEN (10), ELEVEN (11),
TWELVE (12) _THIRTEEN (13) , FOURTEEN (14) , Fulum (15) ,
SI%= (165, SEVENTEEN (17), EIGHTEEN (18), NIIOni
(19), TWENTY (20), TWENTY-ONE (21), TWENTY-TWO (22),
TWENTY -THREE (23), TWENTY -FOUR (24), TWENTY -FIVE (25),

REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF_ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
REREW 'R; AND DECLRNG AN EMERGENCY.
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is contemplating
holding a special charter amendment election on Saturday, July 15, 1961;
and
WHEREAS, by virtue of the City Charter and the General laws of
the State of Texas, the City Council is authorized to prescribe the pro-
cedure for calling and holding elections and defining voting precincts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 31st day of May, 1961,
by Ordinance No-.- � I create and divide the City of Corpus Christi
into thirty -seven (37) wards, and since the passage of said ordinance
there has been no action by the City Council to divide the City of Corpus
Christi into corresponding election precincts:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi is hereby divided
into thirty -seven (37) election precincts within said City, within which
respective precincts the legally qualified voters residing in said election
precincts shall vote in all elections as provided by law and that said
election precincts shall be defined, described and bounded as follows:
(1) Election Precinct Number One (1) shall be composed, .
of the first ward of said City.
(2) Election Precinct Number Two (2) shall be composed
of the second ward of said City.
(3) Election Precinct Ntmlber Three (3) shall be composed
of the third ward of said City.
(4) Election Precinct Number Four (4) shall be composed
of the fourth ward of said City.
(5) Election Precinct Number Five (5) shall be composed
of the fifth ward of said City.
(6) Election Precinct Number Six (6) shall be composed
of the sixth ward of said City.
(7) Election Precinct Number Seven (7) shall be composed
of the seventh ward of said City.
(8) Election Precinct Number Eight (8) shall be composed
of the eighth ward of said City.
(9) Election Precinct Number Nine (9) shall be composed
of the ninth ward of said City.
(10) Election Precinct Number Ten (10) shall be composed
of the tenth ward of said City.
(11) Election Precinct Number Eleven (11) shall be composed
of the eleventh ward of said City.
(12) Election Precinct Number Twelve (12) shall be composed
of the twelfth ward of said City.
(13) Election Precinct Number Thirteen (13) shall be composed
of the thirteenth ward of said City.
(14) Election Precinct Number Fourteen (14) shall he composed
of the fourteenth ward of said city.
(15) Election Precinct Number Fifteen (15) shall be composed
of the fifteenth ward of said City.
(16) Election Precinct Number Sixteen (16) shall be composed
of the sixteenth ward of said City.
(17) Election Precinct Number Seventeen (17) shall be composed
of the seventeenth ward of said City.
(18) Election Precinct Number Eighteen (18) shall be composed
of the eighteenth ward of said City.
(19) Election Precinct Number Nineteen (19) shall be composed
of the nineteenth ward of said City.
(20) Election Precinct Number Twenty (20) shall be composed
of the twentieth ward of said City.
(21) Election Precinct Number Twenty-One (21) shall be
composed of the twenty -first ward of said City.
(22) Election Precinct Number Twenty -Two (22) shall be
composed of the twenty - second ward of said City.
(23) Election Precinct Number Twenty -Three (23 shall he
composed of the twenty -third ward of said City.

(24) Election Precinct Number Twenty -Four (24) shall
be composed of the twenty - fourth ward of said City.
(25) Election Precinct Number Twenty -Five (25) shall
be composed of the twenty -fifth ward of said City.
(26) Election Precinct Number Twenty-six (26) shall
be composed of the twenty -sixth ward of said City.
(27) Election Precinct Number Twenty -Seven (27) shall
be composed of the twenty - seventh ward of said City.
(28) Election Precinct Number Twenty -Eight (28) shall
be composed of the twenty- eighth ward of said City.
(29) Election Precinct plumber Twenty-Nine (29) shall
be composed of the twenty -ninth ward of said City.
(30) Election Precinct Number Thirty (30) shall be
composed of the thirtieth ward of said City.
(31) Election Precinct Number Thirty -One (31) shall
be composed of the thirty -first ward of said City.
(32) Election Precinct Number Thirty -Two (32) shall
he composed of the thirty - second ward of said City.
(33) Election Precinct Number Thirty -Three (33) shall
be composed of the thirty -third ward of said City.
(34) Election Precinct Number Thirty -Four (34) shall
be composed of the thirty - fourth ward of said City.
(35) Election Precinct Number Thirty -Five (35) shall
he composed of the thirty -fifth ward of said City.
(36) Election Precinct Number Thirty-Six (36) shall
be composed of the thirty -sixth ward of said City.
(37) Election Precinct Number Thirty -Seven (37) shall
he composed of the thirty - seventh ward of said City.
Each of the respective wards, as herein referred to, are as
fixed by ordinance duly passed and approved on the 31st day of May,
1961, by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. All other ordinances which have heretofore been
passed and which have set out and established election precincts for
the City of Corpus Christi are hereby repealed and Ordinance No. 6084,
passed and approved by the City Council on the 1st day of March, 1961,
is hereby expressly repealed.
SECTIQN 3. The fact that the City Council of the City of
Corpus Christi deems it necessary that the City of Corpus Christi be
divided into thirty -seven (37) election precincts in order to provide

proper facilities for voting in the forthcoming special election and
other elections to he held in the City of Corpus Chriati, creates a
public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the sus-
pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such public emergency
and necessity exist, and ffiviug requested that such Charter rule be
suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAIM.

GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR
THE SUSPENSION -OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE
OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 15 INTRODUCED,
OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
