AN ORDnMCE
RECEIVING INTO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
PROPERTY ADJACENT TO THE CITY. BEING SCHANEN
ESTATES, UNIT 3 AND 3 -4. SUBDIVISIONS AS SHOWN
BY MAP OF RECORD IN THE OFFICE OY THE COUNTY
CLERK OF NOECES COUNTY, TEXAS, AND FULLY DESCRIBING
SAME AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TESA3; DEFINING ITS LIkIITS AND DECLARING
THE SANE A PART OF THE CITY OF CMUS CHRISTI,
SUBJECT TO THE CONDITIONS AND RULES, REGULATIONS,
ORDINANCES AND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TTESAS; AND DECLARING AN E[ERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi has on the day
of A. D., 1961, entered into an agreement with Travis
Baptist Church Inc., and Del Starr Realty Co., Inc., being the owners
in fee simple to the property herein described, to admit the said
property into the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the expressed covenants contained in said agreements
have been complied with and it has been recommended by the Zoning and
Planninn Commission of the City of Corpus Christi that such property be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, there are no resident voters within said territory;
and
WHEREAS, said property is adjacent to and adjoins the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi deems
it advisable and to the beat interest of said City that the following
described property be admitted into the City of Corpus Christi, Texas
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEKAS:
SECTION 1. That the territory to be annexed is described as
follows, to -wit:

TRACT I
Schanen Estates, Unit 3 -A, a Subdivision according
to map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 24, Page 12
of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, to which
reference is here made for more particular description;

TRACT II
Schanen Estates, Unit 3, a Subdivision according
to map or plat thereof recorded in Volume 23, Page
86 of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, to
which reference is here made for more particular
description;
The above described Tract I and Tract II are each
contiguous to the City of Corpus Christi in that
the Northeastern boundary line of each of said
tracts is in part coincidental with the Southeastern
boundary line of Schanea Estates, Unit 1 heretofore
annexed by the City of Corpus Christi and lying
within the city limits of the City of Corpus Christi
and having its said Southeastern boundary line as
the city limits line of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas,
be and the same are hereby admitted into the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, as an integral part thereof, said territory shall hereafter
be a part of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, subject to the laws
of the State of Texas, the City Charter and the ordinances, resolu-
tions, motions and regulations of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Such territory shall bear its proportionate share -of all taxes levied
and be subject to all of the duties of other inhabitants of the City
of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. The fact that the owners of such territory desire
the same to be immediately incorporated within the limits of the City
of Corpus Christi, and the fact that it is imperative for the well being
of the inhabitants of the City of Corpus Christi that such territory
be immediately incorporated within the said limits, the terms of the
annexation agreement having been complied with, creates an emergency and
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having
declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the
suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and

be in full for and effect from and after is assage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IM THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE-
GOING ORDINANCES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR
THE SUSPENSION-OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE
OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED
OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
