AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
A CONTRACT, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, WITH McCLENDON & ASSOCIATES AND TURNER & COLLIE,
CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC., ENGINEERS, FOR PREPARATION
OF ENGINEERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS COVERING PRO-
POSED MODIFICATIONS ALTERATIONS ADDITIONS AND IMPROVE-
MENTS TO THE 060 SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT, PROJECTS NO.
250- 61 -10, 250-56-10 AND 250- 61 -25; APPROPRIATING THE
SUM OF 07,6042.00 OUT OF NO. 250 SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM
BAND FUND FOR SAID ENGINEERING SERVICES; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER IS AUTHORIZED TO EXECUTE,
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, A CONTRACT WITH
MCCLENDON & ASSOCIATES AND TURNER & COLLIE, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, INC.,
ENGINEERS, FOR AN ENGINEERING PLAN AND SPECIFICATIONS COVERING PROPOSED
MODIFICATIONS, ALTERATIONS, ADDITIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE OSO
SEWAGE TREATMENT PLAN, PROJECTS NO. 250- 56 -10, 250 -61 -10 AND 250- 61 -25,
A COPY OF WHICH CONTRACT 15 ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION 2. THAT THE SUM OF $87,882.00 IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED
OUT OF No. 250 SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM BOND FUND FOR SAID ENGINEERING
SERVICES.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY FOR IMMEDIATE COMMENCEMENT OF WORK
ON THE PROJECT DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 HEREOF CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY
AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE
OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ
AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING
DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE
SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED
