HE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
SECTION 1. That Section 4 of Article 30 of Ordinance No. 3657,
As Amended, be amended by changing the Class Grade of Master Mechanic in the
Firefighting Series from Class Grade F to Class Grade H.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not
affect any valid provisions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi to which these rules and regulations relate.
SECTION 3. The fact that there is an immediate need to change the
Class Grade of Master Mechanic in the Firefighting Series to provide adequate
compensation for the class and so there may be an efficient administration of City
affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall
be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared
such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said
Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, this the 3� day
of July, 1961.
