HomeMy WebLinkAbout06233 ORD - 07/31/1961( \ AN ORDINANCE CHRISTI, TEXAS: AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 3658, PASSED AND APPRDW ON THE 10th DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1954; ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE BARD OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY ADDING ARTICLE II PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR ALL OFFICES AND POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE ", AS AMENDED, SY MM- ING SECTION 4 OF ARTICLE S% OF SAID ORDINANCE HY TING OSITI AND ADDING CERTAIN POSITIONSt BY TNCRP�SING SALARY GBADF�R OF IN POSITIONS; BY CHANGING TIM WORK OF THE P�I- TION OF SANITATION FOREMAN; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN FMERGEA'CY. BE IT ORDAINED BY TBE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CIrZ OF CORPUS SECTION I. That Ordinance No. 3658, As Amended, be amended by deleting the following positions from Section 4 of Article SK: wkww� Houseworker 3 Watchman 3 Senior Custodial Worker 6 Guard (48 hr/week)- 7 Kennel Master 10 Control Tower Operator (35 hr /week) 18 Tourist Club Manager 19 Booking and Promotion Supervisor 19 Financial Assistant 20 License Inspector 22 Chief Electrician 29 By adding to said Section 4, Article S%, the following positions: TITLE CLASS GRADE Guard 6 Senior Water System Mechanic 13 Collection Officer 17 Production and Supply Superintendent 31 SET 2. That Section 4, Article %% of Ordinance No. 3658, As Amended, be amended by changing the class grade of the following positions: CLASS TITLE FROM CLASS GRADE TO CLASS GRADE Custodial Worker 3 6 Building Plans Checker 16 18 SECTION 3. That Section 4, Article %% of Ordinance No. 3658, As Amended, be amended by changing the work week of the position of Sanitation Foreman from 44 hours a week to 40 hours a week. C 2 SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provisions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate. SECTION S. The fact that there is an immediate need to delete certain position classes, and a need to create new positions and made certain class grade changes so there may be an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, 1T IS ACCORDINGLY PAS= AND APPROVED; this the t/ j 1 day of July, 1961.
