That subsection (b) of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 3656, As Amended, be amended by changing the schedules of monthly salaries for all positions in the Compensation Plan to hereafter read as follows: AN ORDINANCE 1/ MONTHLY LONGEVITY AMENDING ORDINANCE NO,3656, PASSED AND APPROVED ON TEE 10th DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1954, ENTITLED BASE SALARY BATES "ADOPTING AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR ALL POSITIONS IN THE CITY SERVICE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY ", BY AMENDING SUB - MTION (b) OF SECTION 1 OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 3656 BY CHANGING THE SCHEDULES OF MONTHLY SALO UR FOR POSITI�NS IN THE OOPTPENSATION PIAN; BY CHANGING THE HOURLY BATES FOR POS OF LABORER AND SEMI - agT t Ftt LABORER; BY ADDING A SAVINGS CLAM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provision of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate. SECTION 4. The fact that there is an immediate need to adopt new salary schedules for City positions so there may be an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such an emergency and necessity to exist, having re- quested suspension of said Charter rule, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSER ANA APPROVFI], this the �,--. day of July, 1961.
