A RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers have, subsequent
to the devastation caused by the storm Hurricane Carla, worked un-
ceasingly and tirelessly in our City to alleviate and repair the
damages caused by such hurricane; and
WHEREAS, The efforts of such Corps of Army Engineers have
resulted in a prompt and efficient clean -up, repair and replacement
of the damaged areas of our City; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Corpus Christi
desires to record its appreciation for a well -done job;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers be
commended for their fine work in assistance to the City of Corpus
Christi because of the damages occasioned by the striking force of
Hurricane Carla, and be further commended for their cooperation with
the City officials and the citizens of Corpus Christi in this under-
taking.
SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the citizens of
Corpus Christi, through their City Council, hereby formally express
their appreciation for a task well -done, and that a copy of tkus
Resolution be forwarded to the Commanding General of the U. S. Army
Corps of Engineers and to the District Engineer located at Galveston,
Texas, and to other interests of importance.
PASSED AND APPROVED This the F3 day of November, 1961.

THE SUSPENSION-OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL) 1', THEREFORE' HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE
OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED,
OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
