BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE 1S HEREBY, AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT ACCEPTED BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ON JUNE 18, 1958, RELATING TO THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, SAID AMENDMENT TO BE EXECUTED BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND THE REGIONAL ADMINISTRATOR OF CIVIL AERONAUTICS ADMINISTRATION, ACTING FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE UNITED STATES, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO EXECUTE THE AFORESAID AMENDMENT TO THE GRANT AGREEMENT RELATING TO THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDNANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TARE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS SSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 1.I- DAY OF O- il'1 , 1961.
