HomeMy WebLinkAbout06579 ORD - 07/25/1962IMS:JKH:7 -23 -62 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO ACCEPT AN EASEMENT FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS PRESIDENT, SAID EASEMENT BEING SITUATED IN PARK PLAZA ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE USED FOR PUBLIC STREET RIGHT OF WAY PURPOSES, SAID TRACT OF LAND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN A COPY OF THE EASEMENT FROM SAID SCHOOL DISTRICT, AT- TACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: - SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO ACCEPT AN EASEMENT FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS PRESIDENT, TO THAT CERTAIN TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND SITUATED IN PARK PLAZA ADDITION TO THE -CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE USED 1 FOR PUBLIC STREET RIGHT OF WAY PURPOSES, SAID TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND BEING MORE, PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN A COPY OF THE EASEMENT FROM SAID SCHOOL DIS'T'RICT, ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF. SECTION 2. THAT THE NECESSITY FOR ACQUIRING SUCH TRACT OF LAND FOR PUBLIC STREET RIGHT OF WAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC. NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDI- NANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, REQUESTING THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AF R ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE 9 sfDAY OF 1962.
