AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER, FOR AND ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO ACCEPT AN
EASEMENT FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS PRESIDENT, SAID
EASEMENT BEING SITUATED IN PARK PLAZA ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE
USED FOR PUBLIC STREET RIGHT OF WAY PURPOSES, SAID
TRACT OF LAND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN A
COPY OF THE EASEMENT FROM SAID SCHOOL DISTRICT, AT-
TACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
- SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO ACCEPT AN EASEMENT FROM
THE CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, ACTING BY AND THROUGH ITS
PRESIDENT, TO THAT CERTAIN TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND SITUATED IN PARK PLAZA
ADDITION TO THE -CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, TO BE USED

FOR PUBLIC STREET RIGHT OF WAY PURPOSES, SAID TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND BEING
MORE, PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN A COPY OF THE EASEMENT FROM SAID SCHOOL
DIS'T'RICT, ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION 2. THAT THE NECESSITY FOR ACQUIRING SUCH TRACT OF LAND
FOR PUBLIC STREET RIGHT OF WAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE
PUBLIC. NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDI-
NANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION
AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND
NECESSITY TO EXIST, REQUESTING THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT
THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE
EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AF R ITS PASSAGE, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE 9 sfDAY OF 1962.

WHEREAS, at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Corpus
Christi Independent School District, duly called and held in Corpus
Christi, Texas, on November 13, 1961, at which a quorum was present,
the following resolution was unanimously adopted:
"BE IT RESOLVED, that the Corpus Christi Independent
School District grant and convey unto the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, a municipal corporation duly
incorporated under and by virtue of the laws of the
State of Texas, its successors and legal representa-
tives, the free and uninterrupted use, liberty, priv-
ilege and easement of going in, on, over, under and
along that certain tract of land situated in Bueces
County, Texaa, described as follows:
A tract of land in the shape of an 'L' out of and
along the Southwest and Southwest boundaries of
that certain 10 acre tract of land conveyed to
Corpus Christi Independent School District by
deed dated January 5, 1961, of record in Vol. 913,
Page 270, Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas;
said tract of land being more particularly de-
scribed by metes and bounds as follower
Beginning at the east corner of said 10 acre tract,
which point bears R 600 59' 30" Bt. 132.0 feet and
S 290 00' 30" W, 40.0 feet from the north corner of
Park Plaza Addition to the City of Corpus Christi
an shown by snap or plat of record in Vol. 22, Page 911
Map Records of Sueces County, Texas.
Thence S 290 00' 30" W with the southeast boundary of
said 10 acre tract a distance of 660.0 feet to the
south corner of said 10 acre tract for the south
corner of this tract;
Thence x 600 59' 30" w with the southwest boundary
line of said 10 acre tract 660.0 feet to the west
corner of said 10 acre tract for the west corner of
this tract;
Thence A 290 00' 30" E a distance of 35 feet for a
corner of this tract;
Thence S 600 59' 30" E parallel to the southwest
boundary line of said 10 acre tract and 35 feet
distant therefrom measured at right angles thereto

• curve to the left having a central angle of 900,
• radius of 10.0 feet;
Thence along said curve to the left a distance of
15.70 feet to the point of tangency.
Thence N 290 00' 30" E, parallel to the southeast
boundary line of said 10 acre tract and 35 feet
northwesterly therefrom measured at right angles
thereto, a distance of 605 feet to the point of
curvature of a curve to the left, having a dkintral
angle of 900 and a radius of 10 feet;
Thee along said curve in a northerly direction a
distance of 15.70 feet to the point of tangency;
Thence B 600 59' 30" So parallel to the centerline

pose of constructing streets, sidewalks, curbs, glitters
and appurtsnances upon said tract and way for the public
use by foot, with ant000biles, carts, carriages, and all
other vehicles and all other mans of transportation
necessary or convenient at all times and in all seasons
in, along, and upon said tract and way, as well as for
laying, repairing, servicing, and saintaiaing of public
utility lines and store{ sewers in, on, over, under and
along said tract or way.

or Vice President of the District may deem appropriiate."

from measured at right angles thereto a distance of 45
feet to the place of beginning;
together with the free ingress; egress and regress to and for the City of
Corpu's Christi, Texas, for the purpose of constructing streets, sidewalks,
curbs, gutters and appurtenances on said tract and way for tale public use
by foot, with automobiles, carts, carriages, and all other vehicles and
all other means of transportation necessary or convenient at all times
and in all seasons in, along, and upon said tract and way, as well as
for laying, repairing, servicing, and maintaining of public utility lines
and storm sewers tic, on, over, under and along said tract or way.
TO HAVE AND TO 80LD, all and singular, the rights and priviLeges
aforesaid to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, its successors and legal
representatives and the public, for the proper use as public streets and
utility easements or utility easements for s0 long as used for such pur-
pose or any of them, and if the use of said tract and way ror all of said
uses shall ever cease, then, in that event, the aforesaid rights and

privileges hereinabove granted to 0,e City of Corpus Christi, Texas, shall
automatically terminate and revert to the Corpus Christi Independent School.
District, its successors and asslgLs.
