HomeMy WebLinkAbout06750 ORD - 01/09/1963j e JKH:1 -7 -63 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $6,795.00 REPRESENTING THE VALUE OF SPECIAL CERTIFICATES OF HOMESTEAD ASSESSMENTS ACCEPTED BY THE CITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE EVERHART ROAD IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 220- 61 -55; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO THE CONTRACTOR, SOUTH TEXAS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, FOR CERTIFICATES HEREBY ACCEPTED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $6,795.00 REPRESENTING THE VALUE OF SPECIAL CERTIFICATES OF HOMESTEAD ASSESSMENTS ACCEPTED BY THE CITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE EVERHART ROAD IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 22o- 61 -55, AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO THE CONTRACTOR, SOUTH TEXAS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE CERTIFICATES HEREBY ACCEPTED. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED APPROPRIATION IMMEDIATELY SO THAT WORK MAY PROCEED WITHOUT DELAY ON THE EVERHART ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY- ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE AY OF JANUARY, 1963.
