AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING FROM THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE CITY THE AMOUNT OF $23,750.00 FOR THE PAYMENT OF IMPROVEMENTS PLACED IN THE H. E. BUTT TENNIS CENTER IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, H. E. BUTT AND H. E. BUTT FOUNDATION HAVE BY AGREE- MENT RELEASED THE REVENUES PAYABLE TO SAID FOUNDATION DURING THE MONTHS OF JANUARY THROUGH JULY, 1963, FROM THE TERMS OF SAID AGREEMENT AND SAID REVENUE IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $23,750.00 IS NOW PROPERLY PART OF THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE CITY; AND WHEREAS, CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE H.E. BUTT TENNIS CENTER AT A TOTAL COST OF $23,750.00 AND THERE IS AVAILABLE IN THE GENERAL FUND THE REVENUE MENTIONED IN THE PRECEDING PARAGRAPH WHICH CAN BE APPROPRIATED FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE COST OF SAID IMPROVE- MENTS: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED AND REAPPROPRIATED FROM THE GENERAL FUNDS OF THE CITY THE REVENUE ESTIMATED TO BE RECEIVED DURING THE MONTHS OF JANUARY THROUGH JULY, 1963, FROM COLLIER SWIMMING POOL, H. E. BUTT SWIMMING POOL AND H. E. BUTT TENNIS CENTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $23,750.00, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED AND REAPPROPRIATED FOR THE PAYMENT OF IMPROVEMENTS PLACED IN THE H. E. BUTT TENNIS CENTER AS A REASONABLY NECESSARY EXPENSE. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY FOR IMMEDIATE PAYMENT OF THE COST OF IMPROVEMENTS PLACED IN H. E. BUTT TENNIS CENTER CREATES A PUBLIC EMER- GENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXISTy HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED 6061` o- e FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE /V DAY OF JANUARY, 1963. i' 9 MAYOR Nlo•TCIR ATTEST: THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS CITY SECRETARY APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM THIS THE DAY OF JANUARY, 1963: CITY ATTORNEY *I-,- - ­ 0 CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS DAY OF , 19.3 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE- GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, RESPECTFULLY, TUN t'f0• BID THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS THE CHARTER RULE WAS SUSPENDED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: BEN F.
