AN ORDINANCE
RECEIVING IN ANDPNNEXING TO THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AN AREA CONSISTING
OF 2,0+9.85 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, SAID AREA
GENERALLY REFERRED TO AS THE U. S. NAVAL AIR
STATION, CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND BEING
MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER, OWNED IN
UNITED FEE BY THE STATES OF
DESCRIBING THE SAMEAS AN INTEGRAL FULLY
RALPARTOF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND
DECLARING THE SAME A PART THEREOF, AND SUB-
JECT TO THE CONDITIONS, RULES, REGULATIONS,
ORDINANCES AND CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF
THIS NN THE

WHEREAS, THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, DID ON JANUARY
23, 1963, AUTHORIZE AN ANNEXATION AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA, THE FEE OWNER OF THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY, AGREEING
TO ANNEX AND INCORPORATE SAID TERRITORY INTO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND
WHEREAS, THE SAID AGREEMENT TO ANNEX PROVIDED FOR THE ANNEXA-
TION AND INCORPORATION INTO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI OF THAT AREA GENERALLY REFERRED TO AS THE THE U. S. NAVAL AIR STATION,
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, CONSISTING OF 2,049.85 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, MORE
FULLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER, LOCATED IN NUECES-COUNTY; AND
WHEREAS, THE SAID TERRITORY I5 ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; AND
WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI DEEMS
IT IN THE PRESENT INTEREST OF THE CITY THAT THE ABOVE DESCRIBED PROPERTY
BE ADMITTED TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THERE IS HEREBY ANNEXED INTO THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED TERRITORY, TO -WIT:

BEGINNING AT AN OLD 4 -INCH OAK CORNER POST OR STAKE AT
THE LINE OF ORDINARY HIGH WATER ON THE WEST SHORE OF
LAGUNA MADRE, A SHALLOW BAY, THE SOUTH SHORELINE CORNER
OF LOT 16 AND EAST SHORELINE CORNER OF LOT 21, IN SECTION
57 OF FLOUR BLUFF & ENCINAL FARM & GARDEN TRACTS, A SUB -
DIVISION, AS SHOWN BY THE MAP OF SAID SUBDIVISION OF
RECORD IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK OF NUECES COUNTY,
TEXAS, IN MAP BOOK A ON PAGES 41, 42 AND 43, FOR THE

CYLINDER WITH BRASS TABLET, MONUMENT NO. 6 ON THE

THENCE IN A GENERAL NORTHERLY DIRECTION ALONG THE
ORDINARY HIGH WATER LINE OF OSO BAY UNTIL IT CONVERGES
WITH THE ORDINARY HIGH WATER LINE OF CORPUS CHRISTI BAY,
THENCE FOLLOWING THE ORDINARY HIGH WATER LINE OF CORPUS
CHRISTI BAY UNTIL IT CONVERGES WITH THE ORDINARY HIGH
WATER LINE OF LAGUNA MADRE, THENCE IN A GENERAL SOUTHERLY
DIRECTION ALONG THE ORDINARY HIGH WATER LINE OF LAGUNA
MADRE TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING, INCLUDING ALL OF THAT
AREA PRIOR TO 1940 CALLED DIMMIT'S ISLAND AND ALL OF THAT
AREA PRIOR TO 1940 KNOWN AS INDIAN ISLAND, ALL SITUATED
IN NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS,
AND THE SAME IS HEREBY ADMITTED INTO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AS AN
INTEGRAL PART THEREOF, SAID TERRITORY TO BE HEREINAFTER A PART OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI SUBJECT TO THE GENERAL LAWS OF THE STATE OF
TEXAS, THE CITY CHARTER, AND THE ORDINANCES, RESOLUTIONS, MOTIONS AND
REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; SAIDIZSCRIBED TERRI-
TORY SHALL HEREAFTER BEAR ITS PROPORTIONATE SHARE OF THE TAXES LEVIED
BY THE CITY AND THE INHABITANTS OF SUCH TERRITORY SHALL HAVE-THE
PRIVILEGES AND BE SUBJECT TO ALL THE DUTIES OF OTHER INHABITANTS OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS.

SECTION 2. THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE PUBLISHED IN A NEWSPAPER
PUBLISHED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AT LEAST ONE TIME BEFORE FINAL
PASSAGE.
