WHEREAS, CONTRIBUTION H4S BEEN RECEIVED FROM THE CITY FEDERA- TION OF WOMEN'S CLUBS IN THE AMOUNT OF $215500.00 TO BE USED FOR ACQUISI- TION OF BOOKS FOR THE PARKDALE BRANCH LIBRARY; AND WHEREAS, THE CITIZENS OF CORPUS CHRISTI ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE EFFORTS OF THE CITY FEDERATION OF WOMEN'S CLUBS AND THE CONTRIBUTION TO THE FUNDS OF THE LIBRARY, AND THE CITY COUNCIL DESIRES TO EXPRESS THE GRATITUDE OF THE CITIZENS OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR SUCH EFFORTS: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: THAT THIS RESOLUTION SERVE AS AN EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE TO THE CITY FEDERATION OF WOMEN'S CLUBS TO WHOM THE CITY AND ITS CITIZENS ARE GRATEFUL FOR THEIR EFFORTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT A COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION BE FORWARDED TO THE CITY FEDERATION OF WOMEN'S CLUBS FOR THEIR RECORDS AS EVIDENCE OF THE EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE OF THE CITIZENS OF CORPUS CHRISTI AS HEREBY EXPRESSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 20TH DAY OF MARCH, 1963. TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore- going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
