AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR THE ACQUISITION OF SAID RIGHT OF WAY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF N0. 295 STORM SEWER BOND FUND THE SUM OF $36o.00 FOR ACQUISITION OF RIGHT OF WAY FOR PARCEL No. 18, SAID TRACT BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT N0. 295 -61 -3o SAVAGE LANE - WHELAN DRIVE, HIGHWAY 44 TO UP RIVER ROAD: PARCEL NO. 18 BEING A STRIP OF LAND OUT OF BLOCK 20, J. C. RUSSELL FARM BLOCKS AS SHOWN BY MAP OF RECORD IN VOLUME , PAGE 53, MAP RECORDS OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS. SAID STRIP OF LAND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT THE POINT OF INTERSECTION OF THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF A 4D FOOT ROADWAY CALLED NAVIGATION BOULEVARD (SAVAGE LANE) AND THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF 120 FOOT WIDE STATE-HIGHWAY NO. 9, A 3/4 INCH IRON ROD, THE SAME BEING THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THAT CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND CONVEYED TO GEORGE F. ALONG THE AFOREMENTIONED EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF NAVIGATION BOULEVARD, A DISTANCE OF 255 FEET TO A 3/4 INCH IRON ROD, THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID GEORGE F. THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT FOR THE ACQUISITION OF THE AFORE- SAID PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATION HEREIN- ABOVE DESCRIBED CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED, AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM �7 AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE / { DAY OF APRIL, 1963.
