HomeMy WebLinkAbout06952 ORD - 07/03/1963WDP :EE 7/3/63 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, TO EXECUTE A REVOCABLE PERMIT TO LONE STAR BEER, INC., TO OCCUPY A PORTION OF NORTH TANCAHUA STREET, A COPY OF SAID PERMIT IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE A REVOCABLE PERMIT TO LONE STAR BEER, INC., FOR THE OCCUPATION OF AN AREA APPROXIMATELY 101 BY 16 611 LOCATED WITHIN THE RIGHT OF WAY OF NORTH TANCAHUA STREET, A COPY OF WHICH PERMIT IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY FOR GRANTING THIS PERMIT TO LONE STAR BEER, INC., TO USE A PORTION OF THE NORTH TANCAHUA STREET RIGHT OF WAY TO ERECT, CONSTRUCT, MAINTAIN AND USE A LOADING PLATFORM CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUS- PENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR.RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE j DAY OF JULY, 1963- / V ` , _ THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS CITY SECRETARY APPROVEDIAS TO LEGAL FORM THIS U ^� DAY .O JUL 1963: gl" tj TY TTORNEY 6952 %voo pot PdWIT �l11! CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS ♦ _' DAY 0 9—g TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE- GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCILS I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS- INTRO-DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
