HomeMy WebLinkAbout06957 ORD - 07/17/1963JKH:7 -15 -63 M AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $15,093.00 OUT OF NO. 200 GAS SYSTEM BOND FUND FOR THE PURCHASE FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI MUNICIPAL GAS CORPORATION OF 2,897 FEET OF 8" WRAPPED STEEL GAS MAIN LOCATED IN TRIBBLE LANE, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACQUIRE FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI MUNICIPAL GAS CORPORA- TION THE AFORESAID PIPE, AND TO DO SUCH THINGS AS ARE NECESSARY TO MAKE SUCH ACQUISITION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED THE SUM OF $15,093.00 OUT OF No. 200 GAS SYSTEM BOND FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF 2,897 FEET OF 81, WRAPPED STEEL GAS MAIN LOCATED IN TRIBBLE LANE, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID PURCHASE TO BE MADE FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI MUNICIPAL GAS CORPORATION. SECTION 2. THAT THE CITY MANAGER I$ HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO ACQUIRE THE AFORESAID GAS LINE FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI MUNICIPAL GAS CORPORATION. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO PURCHASE THE AFORESAID GAS LINE AS PROMPTLY AS POSSIBLE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BEREAD AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE / / DAY OF JULY, 1963.
