HomeMy WebLinkAbout06981 ORD - 07/31/19636 • AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS WRITTEN STATEMENT AND REPORT OF THE ESTIMATES OF VARIOUS COSTS OF IMPROVEMENTS OF THE FOLLOWING STREETS: LAMBERT STREET, FROM LUM STREET TO WEST PROPERTY LINE OF KOOLSIDE ADDITION; FRANCIS STREET, FROM LUM STREET'TO WEST'PROPERTY LINE OF KOOLSIDE ADDITION; FRANCIS STREET, FROM BOBALO STREET TO LUM STREET; LUM STREET, FROM GOLLIHAR ROAD TO McARDLE ROAD; AND BOBALO STREET, FROM DORTHY DRIVE TO FRANCIS STREET; AND SETTING THE DATE OF 216T DAY OF AUGUST , 1963, AS THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING GIVING THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS OF PROPERTY ABUTTING SAID STREETS AND PORTIONS THEREOF TO BE IMPROVED; DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE OF SUCH.HEARING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. ' s 4 • WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 44F CORPUS CHRISTI IS OF THE OPINION THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO LEVY AN ASSESSMENT AGAINST THE PROPERTY AND THE OWNERS THEREOF ABUTTING UPON THE FOLLOWING: 1. Lambert Street,. from Lum Street to west property line of Koolside Addition. 2. Francis Street, from turn Street to west property line of Koolside Addition. 3. Francis Street, from Bobalo Street to Lum Street. 4. Lum Street, from Gollihar Road to McArdle Road. • 5. Bobalo Street, from Dorthy Drive to Francis Street. t AND AGAINST STREET AND STEAM RAILWAY COMPANIES WHOSE TRACKS OCCUPY SAID STREETS, IF ANY, FOR A PART OF THE COST OF IMPROVING SAID STREETS, FIXING A TIME FOR THE HEARING OF THE OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY, AND THE SAID STEAM RAILWAY COMPANIES AND STREET RAILWAY COMPANIES, CONCERNING THE SAME, AND DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO GIVE NOTICE OF SAID HEARING, AS REQUIRED BY LAW; AND . WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL HAS IMPROVEMENT OF THE STREETS AND PORTIONS OR GUTTERS IN PLACE, MEETING THE SPECIF WHICH CAN BE UTILIZED, SHALL BE LEFT IN TO THE PROPERTY OWNERS SHALL BE ALLOWED HERETOFORE, BY ORDINANCE, QRDERED THE ENUMERATED ABOVE. ANY EXISTING CURBS ICATIONS SET BY THE CITY COUNCIL, OR PLACE, 1F ANY, AND CORRESPONDING CREDITS ON THE ASSESSMENTS; AND WHEREAS, THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI. HAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW, FILED HIS REPORT WITH THE CITY COUNCIL, SETTING FORTH THE PARTICIPATION BY THE STEAM RAILWAY COMPANIES AND STREET RAILWAY • COMPANIES, IF ANY, AND THE PROPERTY OWNERS, IN THE COST THEREOF, TOGETHER WITH THE NAMES OF THE OWNERS AND THE DESCRIPTION OF SAID PROPERTY, AND THE WORK TO BE DONE ADJACENT THERETO, AND THE AMOUNTS TO BE ASSESSED AGAINST EACH LOT OR PARCEL AND ITS OWNER AND ALL OTHER MATTERS REQUIRED BY THE APPLICABLE LAW, III -SP -1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE REPORT OR STATEMENT FILED BY THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS HAVING BEEN DULY EXAMINED 13 HEREBY APPROVED. SECTION 2. THAT IT IS HEREBY FOUND AND DETERMINED THAT THE COST OF IMPROVEMENTS ON THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED STREETS WITH THE AMOUNT OR AMOUNTS PER FRONT FOOT PROPOSED TO BE ASSESSED FOR SUCH IMPROVEMENTS AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY AND THE OWNERS THEREOF, AND AGAINST STREET AND STEAM RAILWAY COMPANIES WHOSE TRACKS OCCUPY SAID STREETS, IF ANY, ARE AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT: III -SP.2 -2- SUMMARY OF IMPROVEMENTS AND ASSESSMENTS 1. Lambert Street, from Lum Street to west property line of Koolside Addition. 2. Francis Street, from Lum Street to west property line of Koolside Addition. 3. Francis Street, from Bobalo Street to Lum Street. 4. Lum Street, from Gollihar Road to McArdle Road. 5. Bobalo Street, from Dorthy Drive to Francis Street. The improvements of listed streets will consist generally of: Excavation to a width and depth to permit the construction of concrete curbs and gutters, 4' wide 4" thick concrete sidewalks, 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways where specified and a triple course asphalt surface on a compacted subgrade and 8" compacted caliche base. The roadway width on all streets will be 31' B. B. curb except Francis Street from Lum Street to west property line of Koolside Addition, which shall have a width of 28' B. B. curb. The adjustment of exist- ing storm sewers or the installation of additional storm sewers and appurte- nances necessary for proper drainage of area of improvement. The adjustment or installation of gas, water, sanitary sewer or other utilities as deemed necessary to this project. The assessment rate for property width of 31' B. B. curb has been Curb, Gutter and Pavement @ Sidewalk @ Driveway @ The assessment rate for property width of 28' B. B.
