BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THECORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1955, AS AMENDED, BE, AND THE SAME IS HEREBY, AMENDED BY AMENDING PORTIONS OF SECTION 21 -68, AS AMENDED, SO AS TO FIX THE FOLLOWING SPEED LIMITS ON THE HEREINAFTER PORTIONS OF LEXINGTON BOULEVARD (S.H. 358): NAME OF STREET SPEED LIMIT EFFECTIVE TIMES LEXINGTON BOULEVARD (S.H. 350) - BOTH LANES: FROM CENTERLINE OF THE INTERSECTION OF AYERS STREET (S.H. 286) TO A POINT 955.05 FEET NORTH- WEST OF THE SAME INTER- SECTION. 45 MILES PER HOUR AT ALL TIMES FROM A POINT 955.05 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER- LINE OF AYERS STREET (S.H. 256) TO A POINT 2055.05 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE SAME INTERSECTION. 55 MILES PER HOUR AT ALL TIMES FROM A POINT 2055.05 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER- LINE OF AYERS STREET (S.H. 256) TO A POINT 2700 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER- LINE OF AGNES STREET (S.H. 44) 60 MILES PER HOUR AT ALL TIMES FROM A POINT 2700 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF AGNES STREET (S.H.44) TO A POINT 700 FEET SOUTH OF THE SAME INTERSECTION 55 MILES PER HOUR AT ALL TIMES FROM A POINT 700 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF AGNES STREET (S.H. 44) TO A POINT 1000 FEET NORTH OF THE SAME INTERSECTION 45 MILES PER HOUR AT ALL TIMES FROM A POINT -1000 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF AGNES STREET (S.H. 44) TO A POINT 1166 FEET SOUTH OF LEOPARD STREET (S.H. 9) 55 MILES PER HOUR AT ALL TIMES 7071 NAME OF STREET SPEED LIMIT EFFECTIVE TIMES FROM A POINT 1166 FEET SOUTH OF LEOPARD STREET (S.H. 9) TO LEOPARD STREET 45 MILES PER HOUR AT ALL TIMES SECTION Z. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLI- CATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, ONE TIME, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE. SECTION 3. ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH SHALL BE AND ARE HEREBY REPEALED. SECTION 4. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY AMEND THE SPEED LIMITS AS HEREINABOVE SET FORTH CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON, THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY EXISTS, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND PUBLICA- TION, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE (/ DAY OF�, 1963.
