HomeMy WebLinkAbout07123 ORD - 01/08/1964i M AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING MINUTE ORDER NO. 53783 PASSED BY THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION ON NOVEMBER 22, 1963, REGARDING CONSTRUCTION OF AN ILLUMINATION SYSTEM FROM EAST OF UP RIVER ROAD TO WEST OF CORN PRODUCTS ROAD IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI WHEREBY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT WILL PARTI- CIPATE ON AN EQUAL BASIS IN THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATING COST OF THE SAID ILLUMINATION SYSTEM ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 37 AT THE LOCATIONS AFORESAID; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT HAS SUBMITTED A COPY OF MINUTE ORDER NUMBER 53783, PASSED BY THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION ON NOVEMBER 22, 1963, AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, IN NUECES COUNTY ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 37, THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI HAS REQUESTED THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ILLUMINATION SYSTEM FROM EAST OF UP RIVER ROAD TO WEST OF CORN PRODUCTS ROAD; AND WHEREAS, THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI HAS REQUESTED SUCH CONSTRUCTION UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF MINUTE ORDER 28464 WHEREBY THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT AND THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI WILL PARTICIPATE ON AN EQUAL BASIS IN THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATING COST OF SUCH FACILITY; NOW, THEREFORE, XHE STATE HIGHWAY ENGINEER IS DIRECTED TO PROCEED WITH CONSTRUCTION OF AN ILLUMINATION SYSTEM WITHIN THESE LIMITS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF MINUTE ORDER 28464, FINANCING THE COST IN THE 1965- 1968 INTERSTATE CONSTRUCTION AND RIGHT OF WAY PROGRAM. THIS ORDER IS SUBJECT TO ACCEPTANCE BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND IF NOT ACCEPTED WITHIN 90 DAYS OF THE DATE HEREOF, THE ACTION HEREIN CONTAINED SHALL BE AUTO- MATICALLY CANCELLED; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT MINUTE ORDER No. 53783, PASSED BY THE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION ON NOVEMBER 22, 1963, REGARDING CONSTRUCTION of AN ILLUMINATION SYSTEM FROM EAST OF UP RIVER ROAD TO WEST OB CORN PRODUCTS ROAD IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. ^pA, PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE ^�-� DAY OF JANUARY, 1964.
