HomeMy WebLinkAbout07130 ORD - 01/15/1964AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF 363,576.56 FROM HOSPITAL BOND FUND NO. 21 FOR PAYMENT, UPON CERTIFICATION BY THE HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR AND APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER, TO THE BUILDING FUND FOR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOR PAYMENT OF THE CITY'S PORTION OF OBLIGATIONS INCURRED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ADDITION TO THE HOSPITAL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the additional sum of $363,576.56 from the Hospital Bond Fund No. 214 to be used for payment to the Building Fund of Memorial Hospital under the procedure hereinafter provided. SECTION 2. The sum hereby appropriated shall be paid to the Building Fund of Memorial Hospital, upon certification by the Hospital Administrator and approval by the City Manager, to the effect that the City'S portion of obligation incurred for the construction of the addition to the Hospital are due and payable to the extent of the sum certified and that all necessary steps have been taken to obtain prompt Federal participation. SECTION 3. The necessity for immediately making available funds for the Memorial Hospital Building Fund creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, This the -f— day of January, 1964.
