HomeMy WebLinkAbout07138 ORD - 02/05/1964IMS:JKH:2 -4 -64 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, A WARRANTY DEED TO THE STATE OF TEXAS TO A TRACT OF LAND SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AND CONSISTING OF A PORTION OF THE FORMER CLIFF MAUS MUNICIPAL AIR- PORT PROPERTY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION HERETOFORE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 26TH DAY SEPTEMBER, 1962, A COPY OF WHICH DEED IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. IN KEEPING WITH THE RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, HERETOFORE ADOPTED ON THE 26TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1962, BY WHICH RESOLUTION THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI OFFERED TO CONVEY TO THE STATE OF TEXAS FOR USE BY THE BOARD FOR TEXAS STATE HOSPITALS AND SPECIAL SCHOOLS OF A PORTION OF THE FORMER CLIFF MAUS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT PROPERTY AS A SITE FOR A STATE SCHOOL FOR MENTALLY RETARDED CHILDREN, THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, A WARRANTY DEED WITH A REVERSIONARY CLAUSE PROVIDING IN EFFECT THAT IN THE EVENT CONSTRUCTION OF SUCH STATE SCHOOL FOR MENTALLY RETARDED CHILDREN BE NOT COMMENCED r ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 1968, THAT SAID PROPERTY AUTOMATICALLY REVERT TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, A COPY OF WHICH DEED IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF. SECTION 2.
