HomeMy WebLinkAbout07140 ORD - 02/05/1964v ' ORDINANCE NO.p AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPROVAL OF THE AGREEMENT DATED JANUARY 28, 1964, BETWEEN THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, FOR THE CONTINUED USE, OPERATION, AND MAINTENANCE OF THE STREET ILLUMINATION SYSTEM ON THE CORPUS CHRISTI SHIP CHANNEL BRIDGE AND ITS APPROACHES AND INTERCHANGES IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; PROVIDING FOR THE KMO TION OF SAID AGRMZONT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That the certain agreement dated January 28, 1964, between the State of Texas and the City of Corpus Christi, for the continued use, operation, and maintenance of the street illumination system on the Corpus Christi Ship Channel Bridge and its approaches and interchanges'in the City of Corpus Christi, be and the same is hereby approved, and HERBERT W. WHITNEY, CITY MANAGER, is hereby authorized to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, and to transmit the same to the State of Texas for appropriate action. SECTION 2. The fact that the existing street illumination system named in the above mentioned is needed, creates an emergency which for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and general welfare requires that this Ordi- nance take effect immediately from and after its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
