AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7076 PASSED AND APPROVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 20TH DAY OF AUGUST,
1963, BY AMENDING SECTION 2 OF SAID ORDINANCE
CORRECTING AND ADJUSTING THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED
AGAINST CERTAIN NAMED ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON
LAMBERT STREET FROM LUM STREET TO THE WEST PROP-
ERTY LINE OF KOOLSIDE ADDITION, FRANCIS STREET
FROM LUM STREET TO THE WEST PROPERTY LINE OF KOOL-
SIDE ADDITION, FRANCIS STREET FROM BOBALO STREET
TO LUM STREET, LUM STREET FROM GOLLIHAR ROAD TO
WARDLE ROAD AND BOBALO STREET FROM DOROTHY DRIVE
TO FRANCIS STREET; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 7016, PASSED AND
APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 28TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1963, IS HEREBY
AMENDED, AND SAID SECTION 2 OF SAID ORDINANCE SHALL HEREAFTER READ AS
FOLLOWS, TO WIT:
"SECTION 2. THERE SHALL BE AND IS HEREBY LEVIED AND ASSESSED
AGAINST THE PARCELS OF PROPERTY HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED, AND AGAINST THE
REAL AND TRUE OWNERS THEREOF, WHETHER NAMED OR CORRECTLY NAMED HEREIN
OR NOT, THE SUMS OF MONEY HEREINAFTER MENTIONED AND ITEMIZED SHOWN
OPPOSITE THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RESPECTIVE PARCELS OF PROPERTY, AND THE
SEVERAL AMOUNTS ASSESSED AGAINST THE SAME, AND THE APPARENT OWNERS THEREOF,
WHETHER SAID OWNERS ARE NAMED OR CORRECTLY NAMED OR NOT, AND BEING AS

IN ORDER TO CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS AGAINST THE SAME, CREATES
A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY, REQUIRING THE
SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE
PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION, AND THAT SAID ORDINANCE
SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE
MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY
EXISTS, AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT THE CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT
THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT
THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER
ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
