HomeMy WebLinkAbout07212 ORD - 04/29/1964JKH:4 -27 -64 AN ORDINANCE t AMENDING SUBSECTION (A) OF SECTION 21 -153 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 195$, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING ITEM 32 OF SAID SUBSECTION (A) SO AS TO CHANGE THE ONE -WAY DESIGNATION OF ANTELOPE STREET AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. ll� BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT SECTION 21 -153 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY AMENDING ITEM 32 OF SUBSECTION (A) TO HEREAFTER READ AS FOLLOWS: NAME OF STREET DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC MOVEMENT s °32. ANTELOPE STREET, BETWEEN BROWNLEE BOULEVARD AND NORTH STAPLES STREET EAST" SECTION 2. THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS FINAL PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION. SECTION 3. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, ONE TIME, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE. SECTION 4. THE NECESSITY FOR IMMEDIATELY PUTTING INTO EFFECT THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE TRAFFIC SAFETY ADVISORY BOARD THAT THE ABOVE -NAMED STREET_ BE MADE ONE -WAY AS SET FORTH ABOVE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND PUBLICA- TION, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE DAY OF APRIL, 1964.
