HomeMy WebLinkAbout07268 ORD - 07/01/1964BJw:6/29/64 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $5,000.00 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN ACQUIRING PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PRO- JECT, INCLUDING COMMISSIONERS FEES, COURT COSTS, TITLE EXPENSES, RECORDING FEES AND FEES FOR APPRAISERS SER- VICES, ALL EXPENSES TO BE PAID ON RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, BY ORDINANCE ND. 6998, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON AUGUST 14, 1963, THERE WAS APPROPRIATED OUT OF N0. 220 STREET BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $51000.00 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN CONNEC- TION WITH ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PROJECT, INCLUDING COMMISSIONERS FEES, COURT COSTS, TITLE EXPENSES, RECORDING FEES AND FEES FOR APPRAISERS SERVICES, SAID EXPENSES TO BE PAID ON RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER; AND WHEREAS, THERE EXISTS AT THIS TIME A NECESSITY FOR APPROPRIATION OF AN ADDITIONAL $5,000.00 TO PROVIDE FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN ACQUIRING PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PROJECT: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY-COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF ND. 220 STREET BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $5,000.00 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN ACQUIR- ING PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY PROJECT, No. 220- 56 -24, HIGHWAY 286, RELOCATED, SAID EXPENSES TO INCLUDE COMMISSIONERS FEES, COURT COSTS, TITLE EXPENSES, RECORDING FEES AND FEES FOR APPRAISERS SERVICES, SAID EXPENSES TO BE PAID ONLY ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER. M SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO PROVIDE SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO PAY INCIDENTAL EXPENSES INCURRED IN ACQUIRING PROPERTY FOR THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESS- WAY PROJECT, HIGHWAY 286 RELOCATED, SO AS TO PREVENT DELAY IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE AFORESAID CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRO- 7268 DUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFT ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE DAY OF 1964.
