DALEY AS HEAD OF THE DIVISION OF ACCOUNTING IN THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, IN THE POSITION DESIGNATED AS CHIEF ACCOUNTARTT AND DECLARIM AN EMERGENCY, WHEREAS, Charles J. Daley has been appointed by the City Manager as Head of the Division of Accounting in the Department of Finance of the City of Corpus Christi in the position designated as Chief Accountant; and WHEREAS, such appointment has been considered by the Council and the recommendation concerning said appointment has been approved by said Council: NOV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the appointment of Charles J. Daley as Head of the Division of Accounting in the Department of Finance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, in the position designated as Chief Accountant be, and the same is hereby confirmed. SECTION 2. The necessity for employing a Chief Accountant in the Accounting Division of the Department of Finance of the City creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three regular meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor,. having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, requesting that such Charter rule be suspended and that this resolution be passed finally on the date it is introduced and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED. / PASSED AND APPROVED, This the r/� day of August, 1964. 0 APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM l A-5-'t'X CITY ATTORNEY 7-' THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 7339 CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS LID AY OF TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE- GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO- DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
