I, therefore, request that the City Council pass the proposed ordinance amending the ordinance passed on October 1, 1964, authorizing the issuance of $3,750,000 General Improvement Bonds as an emergency. CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI On this the day of October, 1964, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, convened in kz� Meeting, with the following members of said Council present, to -wit: Dr. James L. The ordinance was read by the City Secretary. I, therefore, request that the City Council pass the proposed ordinance amending the 7 � 8'3 I ORDINANCE NO. 7383 BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AMENDING THE ORDINANCE PASSED ON OCTOBER 1, 1964, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $3,750,000 CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, GENERAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS, SERIES 1964; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES, AND PARTS THEREOF, IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, an Ordinance was passed on October 1, 1964, authorizing the issuance of City of Corpus Christi, Texas, General Improvement Bonds, Series 1964; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary to amend said Ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: 1. That paragraph 2 of said Ordinance above descr is hereby amended so as to be and read as follows: "2. That said bonds shall be dated October 1, 1964, shall be numbered consecutively from 1 through 750, shall be in the denomination of $5,000 each, and shall mature and become due and payable serially on October 1 in each of the years, and in the amounts, respectively, as set forth in the following schedule: YEARS AMOUNTS YEARS AMOUNTS 1965 $130,000 1975 $180,,000 1966 130,000 1976 180,000 1967 130,000 1977 180,000 1968 130,000 1978 255,000 1969 130,000 1979 255,000 1970 130,000 1980 255,000 1971 130,000 1981 255,000 1972 155,000 1982 255,000 1973 180,000 1983 255,000 1974 180,000 1984 255,000 ". 2. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed insofar as they conflict herewith, and all other provisions of said Ordinance dated October 1, 1964, not hereby expressly amended shall remain in full force and effect. 7383 I, 3. The fact that the contemplated use of the proceeds of the bonds is necessary for the orderly development and growth of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule providing that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that said Charter Rule be suspended and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, it is accordingly so ordained.
