I, therefore, request that the City Council pass the proposed ordinance amending the 7 � 8'3 I ORDINANCE NO. 7383 BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AMENDING THE ORDINANCE PASSED ON OCTOBER 1, 1964, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $3,750,000 CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, GENERAL IMPROVEMENT BONDS, SERIES 1964; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES, AND PARTS THEREOF, IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, an Ordinance was passed on October 1, 1964, authorizing the issuance of City of Corpus Christi, Texas, General Improvement Bonds, Series 1964; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is necessary to amend said Ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: 1. That paragraph 2 of said Ordinance above descr is hereby amended so as to be and read as follows: "2. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed insofar as they conflict herewith, and all other provisions of said Ordinance dated October 1, 1964, not hereby expressly amended shall remain in full force and effect. 7383 I, 3. The fact that the contemplated use of the proceeds of the bonds is necessary for the orderly development and growth of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule providing that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative necessity exist, and having requested that said Charter Rule be suspended and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, it is accordingly so ordained.
