HomeMy WebLinkAbout07526 ORD - 03/24/1965AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AMENDING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE BOARD OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY ADDING ARTICLE XX PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION AND AD- MINISTRATION OF THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR ALL OFFICES AND POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE ", BEING ORDINANCE N0, 3658, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 10, 1954 BY CREATING CERTAIN NEW CLASS TITLES AND BY DELETING CERTAIN CLASS TITLES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 3658, as amended, be amended by adding the following class titles to Section 4 of Article XX: Class Title Salary Grade Inspector I 22 Inspector II 23 Senior Inspector I 25 Construction Inspector I 22 Construction Inspector II 24 by deleting from said Section 4 of Article XX the following class titles: Class Title Salary Grade Building Inspector 22 Plumbing Inspector 22 Electrical Inspector 22 Construction Inspector 24 Zoning Inspector and Permit Supervisor 22 SECTION 2. The changes in Section 1 shall be effective as of April 1, 1965. SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, sub- division, clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provisions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regular tions relate. SECTION 4. The fact that there is an immediate need to create certain new position classes and a need to maintain an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule 7526 that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having requested the suspension of the said Charter Rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
