WHEREAS, Article V, Section 4 of the City Charter provides for
the adoption in whole or in parts of a master plan for the physical devel-
opment of the City of Corpus Christi; and
WiSMEAS, in accordance with the City Charter the Zoning and Plan -
n}ng Commission has, in its regular meeting of February 16, 1965, recommend-
ed the approval and adoption of the Corpus Christi Transportation Plan,
1963-1964, as prepared by the City of Corpus Christi, the County of Nueces,
and the Texas Highway Department in cooperation with the U. S. Department
Of COmnerce, Bureau of Public Roads, and has forwarded such recommendation
to the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, notice has been given of a public hearing to consider
the adoption of said plan and the hearing, in accordance with said notice,
has been conducted in open Council session on April 21, 1965;
WHEREAS, in order to promote the orderly development of the City,
it is necessary and in the public interest to formalize the approval of said
plan and direct that it be used in principle as a guide to future develop- a
ment of transportation facilities in Corpus Christi, it being understood
that individual major projects will receive further consideration by both
the Zoning and Planning Commission and the City Council; it being further
understood that the Transportation Plan WJ-U be continually studied and
updated and that changes and modifications can be and will be made from time
to time in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter;
NOW, THMMORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS;
SECTION 1. That the hearing heretofore called and conducted on
April 21, 1965, for the consideration of the adoption of a master transpor-
tation plan, be and it is hereby closed.
SECTION 2. That the Corpus Christi Transportation Plan 1963 -1964,
Prepared by the City of Corpus Christi, the County of Nueces, and the Texas

Highway Department in cooperation "with the U. S. Department of Commerce,
Bureau Of Public Roads, be and it;Ys hereby adopted as a part of the official
Master Plan for the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 3. That this resolution shall become effective from and.
after its passage as in the Charter in' such cases is made and provided�V
