HomeMy WebLinkAbout07814 ORD - 12/08/1965a A* - ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AMENDING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE BOARD OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ]MADDING ARTICLE XX PRO- VIDING FOR THE ADOPTION AND ADMINISTRATION OF TAE POSITION CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR ALL OFFICES AND POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE," BEING ORDI- NANCE NO. 3658, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 10, 1954, BY CHANGING THE CLASS _TITLE OF KEY PUNCH OPERATOR II, CLASS''GRADE 14, TO KEY PUNCH OPERATOR III, CLASS_ MADE 14; BY CREATING A NEW CLASS TITLE OF KEY PUNCH OPERATOR II IN CLASS GRADE 11; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY'. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the same is hereby amended by changing the class title of Key Punch Operator II, class grade 14, to Key Punch Operator III, class grade 14. SECTION 2. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the same is hereby amended by creating a new class title of Key Punch Operator Ir in class grade 11. SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, sub- division, clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provisions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate. SECTION 4. The fact that there is an immediate need to create certain, new positions and a need to maintain an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the. Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that -such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, haying requested the suspension of the said Charter Rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, PASSED AND APPROVED, this the day of December, 1965.
