AN'ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 6314, ESTABLISHING FEES FOR
USE OF THE TENNIS CENTER AT H. E. BUTT TENNIS CENTER
BY ADDING TO THE SCHEDULE OF RATES THE RATES FOR USE
OF LIGHTED COURTS; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION;'AND #
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT ORDINANCE No. 6314+, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 24, 1961, ESTABLISHING FEES FOR USE OF THE TENNIS
CENTER AT H. E. BUTT TENNIS CENTER, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY
ADDING TO THE SCHEDULE OF RATES THE RATES FOR USE OF LIGHTED COURTS AS
FOLLOWS:
"LIGHTED COURT FEES:
50 CENTS AN HOUR PER PERSON FOR NON- PERMIT HOLDERS;

25 CENTS AN HOUR PER PERSON FOR PERMIT HOLDERS.
'PERMIT HOLDER', AS HEREIN USED, MEANS ONE WHO HAS
PAID AN ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE AS SET FORTH ABOVE."
SECTION 2. PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION
OF THE CITY ONE TIME, WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATINb
IN SUBSTANCE THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE. .4
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY FOR ADDING TO THE SCHEDULE OF FEES AT
THE H. E. BUTT TENNIS CENTER THE RATES HEREINA13OVE SET FORTH CREATES A
PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION
OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY
ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING
DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT
SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE'PASSED FINALLY
• ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TARE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND ,
EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE AND PUBLICATION, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE-
GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR
THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; 11 THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE
OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO-
DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
