CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
MAY 16, 1982
8:00 A.M.

Mayor Luther Jones called the meeting to order in the Council Chamber of
City Hall.
Acting Assistant City Secretary Dorothy Zahn called the roll of required
Charter Officers and verified that the necessary quorum was present to conduct a
legally constituted meeting.
Mayor Jones called for appointing and reconfirming members of the Board of
Directors of the Corpus Christi Housing Finance Corporation.
City Manager Martin explained that since the original appointments were
made to the Corpus Christi Housing Finance Corporation, some time had elapsed
and the staff was of the opinion that this City Council should appoint the
members of the Housing Finance Corporation.
A motion was made by Council Member Dunphy that the following be appointed
to the Board of the Corpus Christi Housing Finance Corporation: Mayor Luther
Jones, Jack K. Dunphy, Bob Gulley, Herbert L. Hawkins, Jr., Dr. Charles W.
Kennedy and Cliff Zarsky. The motion was seconded by Council Member Hawkins and
passed unanimously by those present and voting.
Mr. Tom Utter, Assistant City Manager, explained that Mayor Pro Tem Betty
Turner formerly served on this Board but had indicated that she did not desire
to cd"ntinue serving due to a possible conflict of interest.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion by
Council Member Zarsky, seconded by Council Member Dumphy and passed unanimously,
the Special Council Meeting was adjourned at 8:05 a.m., May 16, 1982. Ml LM ED
