AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND•THE
SUM OF $18,575.50 OF WHICH AMOUNT $18,425.00 IS FOR
AC(MUISITION OF PARCEL N0, 20 AND $150.50 IS FOR
TITLE EXPENSE AND RELATED COSTS THERETO, ALL APPLI-
CABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -53 -18.2, MIDTOWN TRAFFIC
EXCHANGE; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT, FOR AND ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WITH THE 01 -INERS
OF THE AFORESAID PARCEL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF N0. 220 STREET
BOND FUND THE SUM OF $18,575.50, OF WHICH AMOUNT $18,425.00 IS FOR ACQUISI-
TION OF PARCEL N0. 20 AND $150.50 IS FOR TITLE EXPENSE AND RELATED COSTS
THERETO, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT N0. 220 -53 -18.2, MIDTOWN TRAFFIC EXCHANGE,
SAID PARCEL BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT:
THE WEST SIXTY -SEVEN FEET(W.679 OF LOTS FIVE (5),
AND SIX (6), BLOCK FOUR (4), OF THE BLUFF PORTION OF
THE CENTRAL WHARF AND WAREHOUSE COMPANY'S SUBDIVISION
TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE
MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN VOLUME "A", PAGE lf5,
MAP RECORDS OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS.
SECTION 2. THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED?AND
DIRECTED TO EXECUTE'REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, WITH THE OWNERS OF THE AFORESAID PARCEL, THE ESTATE
OF J. HOMER MANN.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO APPROPRIATE THE SUMS HEREINABOVE
DESCRIBED AND TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF THE PARCEL FOR MIDTOWN TRAFFIC
EXCHANGE PROJECT CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECES-
SITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE'READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF
THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECES-
SITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND
THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND„,
TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE-
GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND 'IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR
THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; (,.THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE
OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO -
DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
