AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER; FOR AND
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE
CROSS DRAINAGE CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE
STATE OF TEXAS AND CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR CON-
STRUCTION OF OVERSIZED DRAINAGE FACILITIES IN CONNEC-
TION WITH CONSTRUCTION OF I. H. 37 FROM RAND MORGAN
ROAD TO THE M.P.R.R. UNDERPASS NEAR CALALLEN;
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 295 STORM [SEWER BOND FUND THE
SUM OF $43,400 TO BE PAID TO THE STATE UPON REQUEST,
PAYABLE TO THE STATE TREASURER, ACCOUNT OF TRUST FUND
NO. 9271 SAID SUM REPRESENTING THAT PORTION OF COST
FOR OVERSIZING THE FACILITIES TO BE CONSTRUCTED BY THE
STATE, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 295 -64 -26.3; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE
CROSS DRAINAGE CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR CONSTRUCTION OF OVERSIZED DRAINAGE FACILITIES
IN CONNECTION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF 1. H. 37 FROM RAND MORGAN ROAD TO
THE M. P. RAILROAD UNDERPASS NEAR CALALLEN.
SECTION 2. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF N0. 295 STORM
SEWER BOND FUND THE SUM OF $43,400 TO BE PAID TO THE STATE UPON REQUEST,
PAYABLE TO THE STATE TREASURER, ACCOUNT OF TRUST FUND NUMBER 927, SAID SUM
REPRESENTING THAT PORTION OF COST FOR OVERSIZING THE FACILITIES TO BE CON-
STRUCTED BY THE STATE, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT No. 295 -64 -26.3.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF THE HEREIN -
ABOVE DESCRIBED AGREEMENT AND TO APPROPRIATE THE NECESSARY FUNDS IN ORDER
THAT THE DESCRIBED CONSTRUCTION MAY BE BEGUN PROMPTLY CREATES A PUBLIC
}EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF
THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON
THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE
READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR, HAVING
DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH

CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE
DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT
FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE
DAY OF FEBRUARYS 1966,

THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE
OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO-
DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL:
