HomeMy WebLinkAbout07903 ORD - 02/09/1966AN ORDINANCE +I APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $42,000 FOR COMMISSIONERS' AWARD, SPECIAL COMMISSIONERS' FEES, APPRAISAL TESTIMONY, COURT COSTS, TITLE EXPENSES AND EXPERT TESTIMONY IN EVENT OF A JURY TRIAL, ALL IN CONNECTION WITH THE MIDTOWN TRAFFIC EXCHANGE, PROJECT NO. 220 -53 -18.2, ALL OF WHICH IS APPLICABLE TO PARCEL NO. 28, CAUSE NO. 472, SAID CAUSE BEING FILED IN THE COUNTY COURT OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED FROM N0. 220 STREET BOND I 1 FUND THE SUM OF $42,000 FOR COMMISSIONERS' AWARD, SPECIAL COMMISSIONERS' FEES, APPRAISAL TESTIMONY, COURT COSTS, TITLE EXPENSES AND EXPERT TESTIMONY IN EVENT OF A JURY TRIAL, ALL IN CONNECTION WITH THE r MIDTOWN TRAFFIC EXCHANGE, v PROJECT No. 2201 -53 -18.2, ALL OF SAID AMOUNT OF $42,000 IS IN CONNECTION r WITH CAUSE NO. 472, FILED IN THE COUNTY COURT OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, 7k BEING PARCEL N0. 28, OWNED BY JOHN HENNESSEY, ET AL. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATION HEREINABOVE + DESCRIBED CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLU- TION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH I t ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY ' COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECTFROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE_�DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1966.
