AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM
OF $38,893.00, OF WHICH AMOUNT $38,383.00 IS FOR PUR-
CHASE- "OF PARCEL #27, $300.00 IS ADDITIONAL COST FOR
APPRAISAL FEES, AND $210.00 IS FOR TITLE EXPENSE AND
RELATED COSTS THERETO, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT
#220 -53 -18.2, MIDTOWN TRAFFIC EXCHANGE; AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE
SALES CONTRACT,FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, WITH THE OWNERS OF SAID PARCEL; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 220 STREET
BOND FUND THE SUM OF $38,893.00, OF WHICH AMOUNT $38,383.00 IS FOR ACQUISI-
TION OF PARCEL N0. 27, $300 IS FOR ADDITIONAL COST OF APPRAISAL FEES, AND
$210 IS FOR TITLE EXPENSE AND RELATED COSTS THERETO, ALL APPLICABLE TO
PROJECT No. 220 -53 -18.2, MIDTOWN TRAFFIC EXCHANGE, SAID PARCEL BEING MORE
FULLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS, TO -WIT:
BEING A PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND CONVEYED
TO FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY DEED
DATED AUGUST 16, 1956, RECORDED IN VOLUME 745, PAGE 183,
DEED'•RECORDS OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, MORE PARTICULARLY

DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AS FOLLOWS:
BEGINNING AT THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE SAID FIRST
CHRISTIAN CHURCH TRACT FOR A CORNER OF THIS TRACT;
THENCE N. 2' 161 W. WITH THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF
SAID FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH TRACT, BEING ALSO THE EAST
RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF CARANCAHUA STREET A DISTANCE OF 74.34
FEET TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH
TRACT FOR A CORNER OF THIS TRACT;
THENCE N. 800 511 E. WITH THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF SAID
FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH TRACT A DISTANCE OF 219.00 FEET TO
A POINT FOR A CORNER OF THIS TRACT;
THENCE S. 46° 481 51" W., 132.75 FEET TO A POINT IN THE
SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF SAID FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH TRACT
FOR A CORNER OF THIS TRACT;
THENCE S. 80° 54, W., WITH THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF
SAID FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH TRACT A DISTANCE OF 118.00 FEET
TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF

SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO APPROPRIATE THE SUMS HEREINABOVE
DESCRIBED AND TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF THE PARCEL FOR MIDTOWN TRAFFIC
EXCHANGE PROJECT CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC
NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE
OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND
THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS

OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND
NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUC-
TION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS
PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE DAY OF FEBRUARY,
1966.

GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR
THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE
OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO -
DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
