CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI CONCERNING CERTAIN PROVOSED ACTIONS PURSUANT TO THE TEXAS URBAN RENEWAL LAW WAS ADOPTED ON FEBRUARY 2, 1966 BY SAID CITY COUNCIL; AND WHEREAS, NOTICE-WAS DULY GIVEN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TEXAS URBAN r RENEWAL LAW AND A PUBLIC HEARING THEREAFTER HELD ON THE ADOPTION OF THE FOLLOWING - RESOLUTION: "BE IT'RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF.THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AS FOLLOWS: i4 + �1. IT IS HEREBY FURTHER DETERMINED THAT THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, SHALL EXERCISE THE POWERS GRANTED TO ' THE CITY BY THE URBAN RENEWAL LAW OF THE STATE OF TEXAS. �4. THE FINDINGS,, DETERMINATIONS, AND ELECTIONS HEREIN MADE ARE MADE IN ACCORDANCE WITH AND THE VARIOUS,TERMS USED HEREIN ARE USED IN'THE SAME SENSE AS USED OR " DEFINED IN SAID URBAN RENEWAL LAW.' AND WHEREAS, ALL PERSONS WISHING TO APPEAR AND BE HEARD WERE HEARD, TO CONSIDER THE SAME BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ` IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROPER NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC, SAID PUBLIC HEARING HAVING BEEN COMMENCED AND HELD ON APRIL 6, 1966, AT SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER AT CITY HALL IN THE CITY OF CORPUS • - CHRISTI AND RECESSED TO APRIL 11, 1966: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: '79'74 W. SECTION 1. THAT THERE 15 HEREBY FOUND AND DETERMINED THAT: 1. ONE OR MORE SLUM OR BLIGHTED AREAS EXIST IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND 2. THAT SAID ELECTION SHALL BE HELD IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE STATUTES AND CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF TEXAS AND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI. TEXAS. i SECTION 6. THE POLLS WILL BE OPEN FROM 7:00 O'CLOCK A. M. TO 7:00 O'CLOCK P. M. ALL VOTERS DESIRING TO SUPPORT THE ADOPTION OF A RESOLU- TION IN FAVOR OF THE EXERCISE OF THE POWERS OF URBAN RENEWAL BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI SHALL HAVE WRITTEN OR PRINTED ON THEIR BALLOTS THE FOLLOWING WORDS: "FOR THE ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE + EXERCISE OF POWERS OF URBAN RENEWAL BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI." AND ALL THOSE OPPOSED TO THE PROPOSITION OF AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION IN FAVOR OF THE EXERCISE OF THE POWERS OF URBAN RENEWAL BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI SHALL HAVE WRITTEN OR PRINTED ON THEIR BALLOTS THE FOLLOWING WORDS: "AGAINST THE ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXERCISE OF POWERS OF URBAN RENEWAL BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI." SECTION 7. A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE, SIGNED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND ATTESTED BY THE CITY SECRETARY, SHALL CONSTITUTE THE NOTICE OF ORDERING OF SAID ELECTION, AND THE MAYOR IS DIRECTED TO CAUSE A COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE, SIGNED BY HIM, TO BE POSTED AT THE CITY HALL AND AT EACH OF THE VOTING PLACES IN EACH ELECTION PRECINCT NOT LESS THAN THIRTY (30) DAYS PRIOR TO SAID ELECTIONS AND TO HAVE A COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE, SIGNED BY HIM, PUBLISHED IN THE CORPUS CHRISTI TIMES THE OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, BEING A NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL CIRCULATION PUBLISHED WITHIN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, SAID PUBLICATION TO BE MADE ONE TIME AT LEAST TEN (10) DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE ELECTION. SECTION S. VOTING MACHINES MAY BE EMPLOYED AT THE ELECTION HEREIN ORDERED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF V.A.T.S.
