BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF NO. 207 PUBLIC- BUILD- ma- FEND THE SUM OF $33,750, OF WHICH AMOUNT $32,550 IS FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY THE FIRM OF JIM W. MACHLAN AND THE FIRM OF WM. B. STALTER, AND THE SUM OF $1,200 IS FOR SOIL TESTS AND EXPLORATIONS, ALL IN CONNECTION WITH PROJECT N0. 207 -64 -4, POLICE BUILDING EXPANSION. SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE APPROPRIATION AS HEREIN - ABOVE SET FORTH IN ORDER THAT THE POLICE BUILDING EXPANSION PROJECT MAY BE BEGUN WITHOUT DELAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE 40 DAY OF JULY, 1966.
