HomeMy WebLinkAbout08126 ORD - 08/03/1966N 3-% �j AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AMENDING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CIVIL SERVICE BOARD OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY ADDING ARTICLE XX PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR ALL OFFICES AND POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE," BEING ORDINANCE NO. 3658, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON FEBRUARY 10, 1954, BY CHANGING THE CLASS GRADE OF'CERTAIN POSITIONS; BY CREATING CERTAIN NEW CLASS TITLES AND CLASS GRADES; BY CHANGING THE CLASS TITLES OF CERTAIN POSITIONS; BY CHANGING THE WORKWEEK OF CERTAIN POSI -. TIONS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY., BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 4 of said Ordinance 3658,•be, and the same is hereby amended by changing the class grade of certain positions to hereafter read as follows: Class Grade Class Title From To Pool Attendant 3 2 Lifeguard 4 3 Recreation Leader 5 8 Custodial Worker 6 7 Guard 6 � a Clerk I Pool Manager 9 12 . r Senior Recreation Leader 8 12 Assistant Recreation Superintendent, 23 24 . SECTION 2. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the same is hereby amended by creating certain new class titles and class grades to hereafter read as follows: Class Title Class Grade Utility Field Representative 21 SECTION 3. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the same is hereby amended by deleting the class titles of certain positions as follows: Class Title Class Grade Accompanist (20 hr. week) I Recreation Specialist (20 hr..week) 5 Semi- Skilled Laborer 9 Reservoir Caretaker 11 Auditorium Manager 28 Sanitation Superintendent 30 8_i : 3 t • 0 i u SECTION 4. That Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 3658, be, and the same is hereby amended by reducing the workweek of the class titles of: Class Title Pool Manager from 48 to 40 hrs. per week Cook from 48 to 40 hrs. per week Jail Custodian from 48 to 40 hrs. per week Recreation Leader from 32 to 40 hrs. per week Senior Recreation Leader from 32 to 40 hrs. per week SECTION 5. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, it shall not affect any valid provisions of this or any other ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi to which these rules and regulations relate. SECTION 6. The effective date of the above changes shall be August 1, 1966. SECTION 7. The fact that there is an immediate need to create certain new positions and a need to maintain an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having requested the suspension of said Charter Rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
