HomeMy WebLinkAbout08128 ORD - 08/03/1966i- i a 8/3/66 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 6950 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE SALARY OF THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF CORPORATION COURT SHALL HENCEFORTH BE $10,565 PER ANNUM; AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 7605 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE SALARY OF THE JUDGE OF CORPORATION COURT NO. 2 SHALL HENCEFORTH BE $7,763 PER ANNUM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT ORDINANCE No. 6980 BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE SALARY OF THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF CORPORATION COURT SHALL HENCEFORTH BE $10,865 PER ANNUM, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE CITY BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING AUGUST 1, 1966. SECTION 2. THAT ORDINANCE No. 76o5 BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE SALARY OF THE JUDGE OF CORPORATION COURT NO. 2 SHALL HENCEFORTH BE $7,763 PER ANNUM, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRO- VISIONS OF THE CITY BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING AUGUST 1, 1966. SECTION 3. THAT THE NECESSITY TO AMEND THE ABOVE NUMBERED ORDINANCES, IN ORDER TO FIX THE SALARIES OF THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF CORPORATION COURT AND THE JUDGE OF CORPORATION COURT No. 2 IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING AUGUST 1, 1966, CREATES A PUBLIC EMER- GENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE , READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUS- PENSION of SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE 3RD DAY OF AUGUST, 1966, ATTEST: r�zrc�.:.[z7 ACTING CITY SECRETARY APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM THIS THE 3RD DAY OF AUGUST, 1966; L' - Lt�� CITY ATTORNEY YO II THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS n Ls y i J _ l'r CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS / / ,3 DAY OF ! 1 I' l9 L TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE- GOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO - DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
