HomeMy WebLinkAbout08155 ORD - 08/31/1966vMP:8/29166 AN ORDINANCE U TOWN EXPRESSWAY, SAID DEED TO BE IN LIEU OF THAT CERTAIN DEED HERETOFORE AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 8069, OF RECORD IN VOLUME 1159, PAGE 1184, DEED RECORDS OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, AND RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING SAID FORMER DEED IN ALL OTHER ASPECTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT ORDINANCE N0. 8069, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JUNE 22, 1966, BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED BY CHANG- ING THE CONSIDERATION IN A DEED TO THE STATE OF TEXAS FOR PARCELS 344 THROUGH 350 ON THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY, FROM REIMBURSEMENT OF 50% OF e. $102,100 TO 50% OF $101,100. ' r SECTION 2. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY, AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE A CORRECTION DEED TO THE STATE OF TEXAS COVERING SAID PARCELS 344 THROUGH 350 ON THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY, SAID DEED TO BE IN LIEU OF THAT CERTAIN DEED HERETOFORE AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE N0. 8069, OF RECORD IN VOLUME 1159, PAGE 484, DEED RECORDS OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, AND RATIFYING AND CONFIRM- ING SAID FORMER DEED IN ALL OTHER ASPECTS. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY MAKE THE CHANGE HEREINABOVE SET FORTH TO ACCURATELY REFLECT THE COSTS AND CONSIDERATION IN CONNECTION WITH THE AFORESAID PARCELS OF THE CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, 815 T THIS THE �" DAY OF 1966.
